Postgraduate mentoring
The aim of the mentoring program is to provide a platform for networking and support in gaining experience in professional and personal life.
A mentor can help you clarify where you can go in your career path and how to overcome any obstacles to achieve your intended goals. However, sharing experiences does not have to be limited only to the professional field. For example, a mentor can give advice on how to balance a demanding career with personal life.
The program is flexible in time, the scope and form of the meetings depends on your individual agreement with the mentor.
If you're not sure whether mentoring is for you, check out our 2017 video interviews with participants and mentors.
Postgraduate mentoring is also open to all current employees and graduates of UCT Prague. The capacity of the program is limited to 15 participants.
Mentoring schedule at UCT Prague
- After signing up for the program, you will have the opportunity to go through a career coaching session; participation can help you in clarifying your career direction so that the subsequent selection of a mentor is as beneficial as possible.
- Your choice of mentor should reflect your individual needs. You can choose a mentor yourself, or the programme coordinator can help you find a suitable mentor. You can also take inspiration from our offer.
- Once the pairs are formed, a preparation workshop for both mentors and mentees follows. This will help both parties to clarify their goals and expectations and to prepare them for the upcoming meeting period so that the participants can get the most out of it.
- Then, six to eight months of meetings follow. The frequency and content of these meetings depend purely on the individual agreement between you and the mentor; it is recommended to meet at least once a month. The program is concluded with the collection of feedback and a networking event.
