Counselor can also correctly refer you to other specialist help if needed.

The counselling is completely discreet and no one will know about it unless you choose to make it known yourself. It is also possible to meet outside the school building. We provide all services completely free of charge.

To book an initial consultation, please contact kristina.vintonjak@vscht.cz from your university email address and briefly describe the type of difficulties you are experiencing. The counsellor will then get back to you as soon as possible with a link to the Bookings reservation system, where you can tentatively select a consultation date and time.

For employees, the psychological counselling is run by Mgr. et Ing. Jana Houserová, please, contact her via e-mail (Jana1.Houserova@vscht.cz).

How does a consultation usually proceed?

Once you have arranged an appointment, you will attend an initial consultation. The initial consultation is non-binding and is primarily intended to help us understand your situation and needs. The consultation usually lasts 50 minutes and takes the form of an individual conversation. During the meeting, you will discuss and agree on the next steps with the counsellor.

Consultations usually take place in person in one of the counselling rooms at the Counselling and Career Centre (room ZB1-414b or room ZB1-402, opposite classroom B37). Alternatively, they can take place at another location agreed upon in advance or online via MS Teams.

The consultation may be a one-off meeting or, if needed, a series of follow-up sessions. The counselling service provides short-term, focused support addressing a specific difficulty. Typically, 4–6 consultations are provided. In justified cases, this number may be extended in agreement with the counsellor.

Please note that the services provided by the Psychological Counselling Centre do not replace long-term psychotherapy. After their counselling has ended, students may use the service again in the future.
