Scientific Trainees (March 2026 session)

 
  • Duration: 5 months
  • Allowance: €1.297 – €1.663 per month (depending on site)
  • Travel allowance available
  • Place of employment: Geel (Belgium), Ispra (Italy), Karlsruhe (Germany), Petten (Netherlands), Seville (Spain)
  

The JRC will recruit around 50 trainees across 11 thematic fields, including:

  • Environment and climate
  • Energy sustainability
  • Security, ICT and cyber-security
  • Data science and evidence-based policymaking
  • Artificial intelligence and complex systems
  • Space technologies and geo-information
  • Health and consumer protection
  • Transport science and mobility
  • Social and political sciences, geopolitics, and science communication
  • Behavioural science, economics and education
  • Nuclear science and technology
 

Eligibility:

EU nationals and nationals of countries associated to Horizon Europe, with at least a Bachelor’s degree. Candidates must have graduated within the last 5 years or be enrolled in a Master’s or PhD.
