CCORE Technology
Junior researcher
CCORE Technology GmbH (Vienna, Austria) is a progressive R&D start-up company developing a complex medical device for carbon dioxide removal from the blood (www.ccore.at). Based on internal expertise and the knowledge of the market we aim to extend our product portfolio to other bio-active smart devices.
We are looking for a junior researcher who will work on specific tasks in a chemical/material laboratory. The own creativity and independence are highly welcome. The main part of the job will be the hand-on surface modification of polymer materials, specifically on flat sheets, hollow fiber membranes and other in-body contact polymer surfaces. This consists of coating experiments, the chemical/light grafting of organic and bioactive substances and blending of drug/polymer mixtures. The target of research is to improve the performance of studied materials, especially gas permeance, biocompatibility and biochemical activity by targeted drug release functionality. The job is expected to be mostly experimental (70 %) with an evaluation of obtained data, results and reporting (30%). The knowledge of polymer crosslinking reactions, organic synthesis for modification of precursors, analytic testing of drug release kinetic, the same as general knowledge about membrane processes is welcomed.
