Scientific trainee

  • We are pleased to inform you that the Joint Research Centre’s “Call for scientific trainees” is now open for applications for the October 2024 session!
  • As the science and knowledge service of the Commission, the Joint Research Centre provides independent, evidence-based knowledge and science, supporting EU policies to positively impact society.
  • For the “October 2024 call”, the JRC is looking for recently graduated trainees, in different scientific thematic areas relevant to the organisation.
  • The scheme focuses on candidates with strong scientific background. However, some fields also give the opportunity for candidates with a more generalist profile to apply.
  • Depending on the application  fields, candidates will be expected to perform desktop work and/or experimental tasks.

 About the traineeship:

  • The place of traineeship can be one of the following JRC sites: Ispra (Italy), Geel (Belgium), Petten (The Netherlands) or Karlsruhe (Germany). 
  • The traineeships are paid; the allowance may vary depending on the place of recruitment.
