CALL FOR UNIVERSITIES: we are looking for partners for collaborative PhD programmes.
What is this?
- The Joint Research Centre of the European Commission (JRC) is looking for universities and Higher Education Institutions to design, host and supervise together PhD projects of common interest.
- PhD candidates will spend half of their time at their home university and half at JRC. Each institution will cover the cost of the PhD candidate during their stay.
- The call encompasses 25 research topics, ranging from cybersecurity and climate science to behavioural science (full list in the call at page 3).
Why?
- We want to strengthen our ties with academic institutions, to explore fresh ideas and new techniques. With this programme, we integrate doctoral research into our scientific units, and train a new generation of doctoral graduates on the science-policy interface.
Who is this for?
- The 2025 call for Call for expressions of interest is open to universities and HEIs that
- Are based in an EU Member State or a country associated to the Horizon Programme
- Are entitled to award doctoral degrees
- Have administrative autonomy, including signing agreements with external partners.
Deadline
- Apply online by 18 March 2025, 23.59 CET.
- The selection results will be announced by 1 April 2025.
