Our mission

  • Novogaia is an early-stage techbio company based in San Francisco with a presence in Prague and Amsterdam.
  • At Novogaia, we’re building machine learning models to rapidly screen fungi and identify novel bioactive small molecules for applications in pharma and agriculture.

What we're looking for

  • We are looking for two full-time summer interns. Working alongside our CTO, David Kubánek, you’ll be helping us build best-in-class models for predicting the properties of molecules produced by fungi based on their DNA and mass spectra.
  • The first role would best suit a bioinformatician with knowledge in genetics and metabolomics.
  • The second role would best suit an machine learning research engineer with experience building transformer models, looking to get exposure to datasets and modelling in biology and chemistry.
  • Ideal candidates will be pursuing a masters or a phD in a relevant discipline, looking to get practical experience at a startup and make real-world impact.
  • Duration of internship is 2-4 months from July to October, start and end dates are flexible. Preferred location is Prague but we can also discuss a remote option.
