How does a consultation usually proceed?
After arranging a meeting with one of our counsellors, you will have an initial consultation. This first meeting is non-binding and serves mainly to get an overview of your situation. The consultation usually lasts about 50 minutes and takes the form of an individual conversation. During this meeting, you and the counsellor will agree on the next steps.
Sessions usually take place in person at the Counselling and Career Centre office (ZB1-414b, see map, opposite room B37), or at another prearranged location. They can also be held online (via MS Teams).
The consultation can be a one-time session or, if needed, a series of meetings. Due to capacity limits, the number of sessions is restricted to a maximum of five per semester. Please note that the psychological counselling service does not replace long-term psychotherapeutic care.
