After graduating from medicine, Luďka went through the path of finding the right place, through radiodiagnostics and working in a hospital, to a position as an assistant in pathological physiology at the Faculty of Medicine of Charles University, to discovering pharmaceutical law in connection with medicine while working for pharmaceutical companies. It was very important for her not to lose this connection with medicine and discovering the field of pharmaceutical law became a challenge she could not resist. Thus, she completed her education in pharmaceutical law and started her 26-year career in Pharmaceutical Affairs, during which time she has worked for many international pharmaceutical firms and has now been based in London for over twenty years, where she now heads the London office of her home firm, where she has been Senior VP Pharmaceutical Affairs for over 12 years. During her career she has been responsible for all areas of pharmaceutical affairs - pharmacovigilance, drug registration, distribution and quality assurance. The connection with medicine won and today she is mainly involved in the area of registrations and pharmacovigilance at Pharmazet Alliance Group.
At the same time, Luďka says that the world of Pharmaceutical Affairs is very complex and the different parts are closely interconnected, offering good career development opportunities. "What I find very interesting about the legislative and control part of the pharmaceutical industry is the constant development of pharmaceutical law and the possibility of work placements from Europe to Asia, which is now the main centre of the pharmaceutical industry. The opportunity for training, which never ends, is an interesting parallel with medicine and the need for lifelong learning. Add to this the job opportunities that take you to places in Europe, India or China, and pharmaceutical affairs is a choice you will never tire of."
Luďka also has many years of experience working not only in England, but also in Malta, India, Vietnam or China, but in London she found her second home and despite frequent trips to Prague, she still lives here with her family. She says she would like to give back to students through mentoring the valuable advice and help she has received on her career path "Everyone has to discover their own path and we all have a different approach, it is important to discover a field that we will not only make a living in but also enjoy. I am very happy to give advice and pass on my experience, but the decision will always be yours, as only you can write an interesting book of your life, we should be there as your background and support.
