Undergraduate mentoring

Valuable experience during your studies

The mentoring programme allows you to gain insight into the environment of companies and institutions or discover what a career in science entails already during your studies.

This is an effective method of learning and development that can greatly help you clarify your career direction and set long-term goals. In addition to gaining valuable experience and contacts, a mentor can help you tackle various academic and personal challenges and obstacles.

Working with a mentor is flexible in terms of time, the scope and format of the meeting depends on your individual agreement.

The capacity of the programme is limited! Do not hesitate to sign up!

Schedule

  1. Sign up for the programme.
  2. After signing up, you will participate in a group preparatory workshop where you will clarify your direction and goals for communicating with your mentor. That way, you can then choose the one that will be most beneficial to you.
  3. You can choose a mentor from those on offer or come to the coordinator with your own proposal. It may happen that several students are interested in one mentor. That's why the final pairing is done through a competition system - after the initial workshop you will have the space to film a short video message(we will discuss tips and tricks during the workshop), and then it will be up to the mentors to decide who they want to work with. If your cooperation does not work, we will try to find you a full replacement.
  4. Subsequently, 3-4 months of meetings take place. The frequency and content depend purely on the individual agreement between mentor and mentee. We recommend seeing each other at least twice a month. In addition to interviews and meetings, you can visit the mentor in their workplace, observe them at work or get involved in a specific project.
  5. The programme is concluded with feedback collection and joint networking.

You can sign up from 5.2. to 15.2. 2024  by filling out an online application HERE.

If you have any questions, please contact Tereza Picková, the programme coordinator.
