Graduated from the Faculty of Science at Charles University and the University of Technology in Prague. He is interested in separation techniques, in particular capillary electrophoresis, which he uses for chiral separations of mainly pharmaceuticals and illegal drugs. He also studies nanotechnology, specifically nanoparticles, where he studies their preparation, modification and use. Last but not least, he is interested in radioanalytical methods, specifically topics related to deep-sea repositories and radionuclides in the environment.
He currently serves as Head of the Radioanalytical Methods Group at the Department of Analytical Chemistry and as Vice Dean for Science and Research at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, and in other roles that arise from these positions.
He began to explore innovative teaching methods in 2020 and has introduced them in all the courses he teaches. He has also been awarded a PIGA project on the subject.
He likes to look for ways to solve problems his motto is "Anything goes, it's just the little kids that have to wear it."
